Tools and Labeling to Keep Employees Safe on the Job

There are three main categories of work place safety issues that Leading Marks provides solutions for:

  • Hazard Recognition
  • Slips, Trips and Falls,
  • Fatigue

June is National Safety Month. Hazards take many forms: equipment with moving parts, vehicles, electrical exposure and falls–just to name a few. Having the correct protective equipment and signage is a must to protect employees from risks they may not think about or see. Work fatigue is a hidden problem in many workplaces and is often caused by repetition.  As a business grows or its processes change repetition of movement or tasks can easily causes fatigue, whether that fatigue is physical or mental. Businesses should regularly review processes to determine if

  • a hand stamp should be replaced by an impact press or dot peen tool
  • a manual impact press operation should be upgraded to a electric or pneumatic trigger
  • robotics can be used to place or move items on a production line

In addition to reducing fatigue, changing your production processes can have other benefits including:

  • standardizing elements of a finished product
  • reducing redundant task time freeing up staff for more valuable work

Slips, Trips and Falls

Preprinted caution labels may cover standard warning messages, but they probably won’t be able to address all the slip, trip and fall concerns for your shop’s specific layout and design.

The Max Bepop labeler prints customized labels that are compliant with ANSI standards on materials up to 8 inches wide and approximately 60 feet long.  This device prints either vinyl or polyester materials to identify safe walkways, workstation pinch points and other safety concerns as well as personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

The labels from this unit can be customized, printed, and cut-to-size on demand; no minimum orders or lead times.  Print what you need, when you need it to make sure your shop floor is adequately labeled to protect against slip, trip and fall hazards.

Hazard Recognition

Having the correct protective equipment is a must to protect employees from risks they may not think of or see.

Avoid the risk of foul hammer blows which leave employees’ hands susceptible to injury. Protective solutions can be as simple as hand stamp holders for workers doing hand stamping. One example is a stamp grip, shown in the picture above.
